I won’t lie, I’m sick of radio. Tired of bad songs. Tired of random ramblings from DJ’s, although Gareth Cliff is awesome. I want to listen to the music I want to listen to, the genres I want to listen to, the decades I want my music from. And I’ve found it with Last.fm.
Basically, it is $3 per month, and I can stream as much music as I want, and I can choose what sorts of music I want. For instance if I like The Beatles, I click ‘Radio’ and then type in ‘Beatles’ and it will play songs relating to that band and genre. You can also ‘Love’ a song, or if it is terrible, you can ban it so that it doesn’t come up again. Or you can just skip to the next track if the current one is not touching you where it feels nice.
So you type in ’80s’ and press the play button
From there it plays related music, and you can either ‘Love’ a song, ban it, or skip to the next one. RAD! Here I was just jamming (With my pants off at my desk) to Axl Rose, YES!
My favourite though is typing in ’80s’, it brings up the most insane, killer selection of music! Today for instance I have been hit IN THE FACE by Eddy Grant, Rick James, The Cars and much more. I honestly cannot get over how awesome this is. It’s definitely improved my mood, because when the music stops…my mood crashes.
For $3 per month, trust me, you cannot go wrong. That works out to around R25 per month, for all the music your face can handle.Plus if you go away (Provided you have internet connection), you don’t have to carry music around, you can just login to a computer, and let the party continue. OH YES PLEASE.
Stop messing around, get Last.fm, and get the beats rolling.
And change your life.
