Fudge Hair Shaper In Review: This Is It
I’ve had quite a few people in my time look at me as if I’m gay, because of the passion in my voice when speaking about hair products. But it’s seriously not something I mess about with! Because I know how frustrating it is walking home with a tub of wax that has just set you back a gram (R350), and you try it and it doesn’t work for you at all. Now I always have a tricky time reviewing hair products because everyones hair is different. My hair is so messed up that one day a certain product works, another day a different one works. Some days I have to combine two different waxes in my hair to make me look half decent.
The fact is if you’re a guy with what I call chicks hair — straight, shiny, can grow it long without straightening it (Think Colin Farrell, Brad Pitt), then you can pretty much do what you want, cut your hair how you want, use whatever products you like and you’re still going to look good. You’re a lucky sonofabitch.
For the rest of us, life and hair products are one big struggle. Me, I have straight hair, but it’s very fine. So anything too greasy and it weights my hair down, anything too dry and I end up getting a little bit of a whitefro. I can’t grow my hair too long without looking like some sort of nerd, so it’s a tricky balance for me. Over the years I have perfected my hair styling techniques and products and have narrowed these products down to two:
Paul Mitchell Dry Wax.
Fudge Hair Shaper
Fudge Hair Shaper is my absolute favourite because it’s so damn tough and can make any style you want. As I say, some days my hair works, some days it doesn’t. I always use Fudge Hair Shaper to give my hair the style I want. If it is feeling a bit dry, I add some Paul Mitchell Dry Wax over it to make it look more natural with a matte finish.
But most of the time, Fudge Hair Shaper works perfectly on it’s own. If you have just normal, straight and shiny hair this stuff will change your life! You’ll be able to do absolutely anything with your hair and it will make you pull more chicks — guaranteed. Even on my fine, straight and sometime dry and terrible hair, this is the result of only Fudge Hair Shaper on it’s own:
I can deal with that!
The only problem is that you can’t buy it in Cape Town. It used to be available at that place in Canal Walk but they stopped selling it a while back. Luckily for me, I have an ebay account and take full advantage of it! I currently have two tubs of Fudge Hair Shaper, the Original and the Mint.
The mint is really rad and makes your hair smell fresh. It is essentially a paste, but not dry at all. You take a small amount, rub it in your hands and then just run it through your hair and create any style you want.
The benefits of Fudge Hair Shaper:
- Non greasy
- Doesn’t flake
- Works into your hair easily
- Matte finish
- Creates any style you want, and has a very strong hold without going hard like gel
- Washes out easily
In fact, there are no negatives about this product, if there is a negative, it’s that my hair is so temperemental.
This is seriously the hair product you as a guy have been looking for. And I’m not saying this to sell the product because there is nothing in this for me. I’m simply doing this because I know what a minefield it is out there in the men’s hair product scene. I paid 11 pounds for my last mint tub of Fudge Hair shaper. This is the best men’s hair product on the market at the moment and I don’t see anything coming close to it in a long time.
With delivery and everything, you’re looking at paying around R200 for this on Ebay but remember, it lasts for ages. I use it every day and it normally lasts about three months per tub which is really amazing. You’ll just have to search through a few listings to find a seller that delivers to South Africa, but there are also a few. Once you’ve tried it, and you like it, then just order before your tub is finished because delivery normally takes around two weeks.
I always keep a spare tub in stock…so I know I’ll always look good!
Seriously, this is the hair product of your life. You won’t find it in Cape Town, and once you try it you won’t be telling any of your mates. Because you’ll look so good! But your mates will already know.
Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t read SLXS?
Dude.
I was looking at this stuff the other day. The stylist I visit up here in Dubai stocks it by the truckload. And I wasn’t convinced about it but now…Ima gonna get me some of that (as the bishop said to the actress).
Ja dude it is SERIOUSLY awesome! It is difficult though to tell a person with different hair and a different hairstyle to use something, but I’ve given this stuff to friends to test and they’re all sold on it.
I have literally been through all the ranges and there is nothing I stick to except this. And Paul Mitchell Dry Wax. It’s only taken about 10 years and thousands of rands to find something good, but now I’ve got it! Give it a try for sure.
